Nevada County Airport (GOO) is a public airport 3 miles east of Grass Valley, California. It was originally built during the gold rush to fly gold to what is now known as the San Francisco International Airport. The US Forest Service and California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection use the airport as their base for wildfire air attack operations.

Empire Mine State Historic Park The Empire Mine State Historic Park is home to one of the oldest and most prolific gold mines in the state, producing more than 5.8 million ounces of gold. Today, the park provides visitors with the to visit many of the mine’s buildings, restored gardens, the preserved home of the mine owner. Wine Tasting Grass Valley is also home to many vineyards and wineries. Some vineyards are even home to the most desirable grape’s in the state and supply to world famous wineries. Holbrooke Hotel Holbrooke Hotel has been open since 1862 and is the oldest hotel still in continuous operation in California’s Mother Lode.
